"Truth" vs. "truth"

Written by Patricia Zimmerman

What is the difference between “Truth” and “truth”?

  • Truth (with a capital T) is God’s Truth—Absolute Truth. It is complete, unchanging, and stands on its own.

  • truth (lowercase) is our personal perception of what we believe to be true. It is based on what we have seen, heard, and experienced—but it is incomplete.

There are always three sides to every story: yours, mine, and God’s. God sees the whole picture, including both sides and the lessons being learned.

The Masters emphasize the importance of discernment along the spiritual path. Whenever a belief is presented to us, we should question its validity. If we choose to adopt it, ask:

  • What am I gaining from this belief?

  • Is it rooted in love or fear?

There are trade-offs in everything in life. Go within to explore yourself—you may be surprised at what you discover. The only way to change your world is by changing yourself. We cannot change what we refuse to see.

Pure Truth is God’s Truth. It needs no defense or army. Once we know Truth, we must live it to the best of our ability, being an example for others to follow. Actions speak louder than words—let your actions speak volumes.

Finding Truth requires constant, conscious effort. The journey of self-reflection and self-discovery is never-ending.

When we go Home, it is not who we were, what we accumulated, or what we accomplished that matters—it is who we have become spiritually. All else are tools to guide us toward that ultimate goal.

Blessings to you on your journey of self-discovery!
