Healing Is for Everyone, yet not everyone is ready to heal.

Written by Patricia Zimmerman

If someone were to tell you that the state of your health was entirely in your own hands—that you have the power to stay healthy, and if you become ill, you have the power to heal yourself—would you believe them? It may sound too good to be true, but it is true.

To be clear, members of the medical establishment do have an important role to play in our health. We need them to repair damaged bodies, set broken bones, and manage pain until the emotions causing the pain can be released. Yet too often, modern medicine treats the body as though it were a machine that simply breaks down, rather than a self-regulating, self-healing organism.

Medical practitioners work from the outside in, managing symptoms.
True healing works from the inside out.
The mind, body, emotions, and spirit must be in balance for healing to occur. Until the medical field fully acknowledges the role of the mind and spirit in wellness, its understanding of how the body truly heals will remain limited. Once the mind, emotions, and spirit are brought into harmony, the physical body naturally follows.

Healing begins when you become tired of being sick and tired. As long as you receive something from your illness—whether attention, avoidance, or comfort—you will not fully heal. Sometimes the fear of facing life’s challenges is greater than the pain of the illness itself. Others may have lived with illness so long they have become identified with it, forgetting who they were before it began. And sometimes illness carries a karmic lesson. For example, one who has lost the use of their legs may be learning to “stand up” for themselves. There are as many reasons for illness as there are souls walking the Earth.

But miracles happen when people believe.
For true, “miraculous” healing to occur, you must believe—without doubt—that all things are possible with God (or whatever name you use for the Source of all life). Doubt, fear, or worry weakens the healing process. God’s love is pure and unconditional, and it is through this love that all healing occurs.
Love is the only true healer.

When you stay positive, kind, and loving, that same energy returns to you as good health and a joyful life. Negativity, fear, and self-centeredness return as imbalance and illness. Clear thinking and a loving heart are the foundation of lasting wellness.
When the mind, body, emotions, and spirit are at peace, dis-ease cannot enter. When they are in conflict, dis-ease arises to teach what must be healed.

Remember: the only way to heal is to change yourself.
When you change, your world changes with you.

Doctors can diagnose and prescribe medication to ease symptoms, but they do not heal. Pills are only temporary bandages until the root cause of the dis-ease is released. Likewise, energy practitioners are not “healers” either—they are conduits for Divine energy. The clearer and more loving the conduit, the purer the energy that flows through them. Ultimately, you are the true healer. Others simply assist you along your path.

In emergencies, seek medical care. But when you have the time and desire to heal deeply, consider working with an energy practitioner. True healing comes from within. To remain well, inner peace must be maintained.

Now is the time to take responsibility for your health and to step into self-empowerment. Poor health and dis-ease do not “just happen.” When you accept responsibility for your past choices and open your heart to new awareness, you begin to reverse the process of dis-ease and awaken to the wholeness that has always been within you.

The only one who can heal you—is you.
