The Power to Heal Yourself

Written by Patricia Zimmerman

If someone were to tell you that the state of your health was totally in your own hands—that you had the power to stay healthy, and that if you got sick, you had the power to heal yourself—would you believe them? It would sound too good to be true.

But it is true. Each one of us holds the key to our own health and well-being. The human body was designed to be “self” healing. It is a self-regulating and self-renewing holistic organism, not a machine that breaks down.

While I am not a medical doctor and have no formal training in medicine, I have witnessed what medical personnel would call “miracles,” but which I know to be simply “healing from the inside out,” the way the body was designed to work. My focus is on healing the mind and spirit. Once the mind and spirit have healed, the physical body will heal itself.

The physical body does not wear out or break down for no apparent reason or due to age. There are many contributing factors. The human body breaks down because of the way we live life. The physical body was made to process natural organisms, not synthetic ones. It was meant to be active, not sit still for long periods of time.

Emotions are at the root of almost all dis-ease. Stress is an emotion that encompasses many different emotions. To be healthy and happy, stay positive and loving in everything you do.

Alcohol and drugs are poison in the body. Addiction breaks down the mind, body, and spirit. Addicts learn to justify negativity instead of learning to overcome it, escaping life.

Good health costs money. You can pay for it now and enjoy healthy, delicious and nutritious foods, or you can pay for it later in medical bills and an increased cost in health insurance. Until you look at your body as a long-term investment, you will not make the sacrifices necessary to attain the goal of good health.

The time has come to take responsibility for our own health, to be self-empowered. The only one who heals is the person him or herself, when he or she is ready. In order to heal, you must be willing to change. Are you ready to heal? If so, the time for change is now.
